Liam Hermsworth and Woody Harrelson will finally be in the same scene in their new film By Way Of Helena. Sophomore director Kieran Darcy-Smith will be heading the Thriller/Mystery taking us back to the 1880s.

Friendship and Love

miss-you-already

Drew Barrymore and Tony Collette are in the midst of production on their new film Miss You Already. Director Catharine Hardwicke takes on this powerful story of friendship and love, a departure from her usual fair (Twilight, Red Riding Hood).

Barrymore and Collette are best friends both dealing with their own struggles of cancer and trying to have a child. They both have to support one another to get through it. I am expecting to laugh and cry all at the same time during this Dramedy.

Production is currently underway in the UK starting in London and later in Yorkshire. An October 2015 release date has been set for the film.

FB_AvatarBox_CastInHollywood-01

Cast In Hollywood has been a hot spot of activity lately. Some major castings have been coming through, we recently had casting directors for TV Shows like Fargo, Review and new projects for networks like E!, as well as commercials for Samsung and Kmart.

It is always great seeing fresh new talent coming in to audition. While some of the actors coming in to audition are seasoned pros that have been working for a while, others are new and undiscovered talents. We see it all here from really interesting Indies to big budget series.

The New Shia Labeouf

After an apparent meltdown earlier this year over a plagiarism scandal, controversial actor Shia Labeouf has put himself back on track. As one of the leads of the transformers franchise, he was a hot comedy  however, after declaring his retirement from acting “I’m not famous anymore”. It appears he has had a change of heart, with a slew of new projects on the way. It all started with the release of his new war epic Fury with Brad Pitt released this fall.

Currently in the works are two new projects for Labeouf. Up next is the dramatic/ thriller Man Down. Lebeouf will be playing Gabriel Drummer, an Afghanistan war vet dealing with the new America. Kate Mara is set to play the wife of Drummer. Man Down is currently in production with an October 21015 releases.

Labeouf is also in talks to star in the new buddy comedy Arms & the Dudes. The Duo of Jesse Eisenberg and Labeouf, two typical pot heads find them self in deep water after being granted a government contract to be big times arms dealers. No further release information has been released.

Big Screen for Whistleblower

2013 Sundance Portrait - Don Jon's AddictionEdward Snowden

The Edward Snowden story will soon be brought to the big screen. Oliver Stone is set to direct and produce the intriguing Bio Pic with Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing Snowden. The now infamous NSA leaker caused a lot of problems for the Government, and fled the country to resist arrest for the treasonous crimes.

The documentary “Citizenfour” looked at exactly what happened surrounding Snowden and the leak. People have mixed feelings about the whistle blower – some say he was courageous to tell the truth about what was going on behind closed doors, and others argue that he was completely wrong to divulge classified information. I am curious to see what angle the film will take toward Snowden.

The film is currently set to start production this December in Munich,  Germany with a 2016 release date.

Who’s Back in Lichfield Prison?

Guess Who’s Back, Back Again? Vee… Really? Yup, although for the last year we have all been thinking that the villain of Orange Is The New Black Season 2, Vee was left for dead on the side of the road Turns out maybe not. Lorraine Toussaint recently showed up on set for filming of season 3 of the Popular Netflix original show, so we know something is brewing.

Vee was run over after escaping Lichfield prison, by another escaped convict on a joy ride in the last seconds of the season 2 finally. So how is she still alive, and what kind of trouble is she going to stir for the new season. Much of second season drama was brought on by the arrival of Taystee’s Mama, Vee. She quickly took control of “her girls” and caused all sorts of problems within the prison on anyone who crossed her, or basically anyone.

Season 2 seemed to be a huge change from season 1. It was much more dramatic and serious than Comedic, but of course it still had the critical fun elements. What will season bring?

Pipers other half, Alex will also be making a full return for season – will the new season revolve around a more lighthearted story of the Piper and Alex relationship or will we all be brought back into the wrath of Vee? It looks like we are going to have to wait until summer of 2015 to find out.
